Caldera
- Exploration History
Exxon, Noranda, Homestake, Battle Mountain Gold, Western Mining and
Glamis Gold drilled a total of 116 reverse circulation holes on and
near the Caldera Property area between 1981 and 2001. These holes
averaged 356 in depth and the deepest was less than 600 feet in vertical
depth.
Rock chip sampling has been conducted by several parties with very
positive results. From 761 known samples, 184 (24%) contain over 1
gram of gold per ton (0.032 oz/ton) while 78 (10%) contain over 3
grams per ton (0.0965 0z/ton). Twenty samples contain over 10 grams
of gold per ton (0.3215 oz/ton) up to a maximum of 193 grams per ton
(6.21 oz/ton). Silver values are also highly enriched with 84 samples
containing over 32 grams (1.03 oz/ton) of silver with a maximum of
6,370 grams per ton (205 oz/ton).
